Tunisian Agricultural Exports Expected to Reach new High

Official statistics show Tunisia's agricultural export value reached $809m in the first nine months of 2004. Export value is estimated to reach an unprecedented $1.2 billion by the end of 2004. According to Al-Horria newspaper, Tunisian olive oil exports rose six fold to $529m in the first nine months of 2004. Tunisia's ability to surpass food imports with food exports was estimated at 133 per cent for the first nine months of the year. (menareport.com)
