Algerian Sonatrach Purchases Methane Tankers

Algeria's national oil company, Sonatrach, signed two deals Sunday (31 October) with Japanese shipwrights Itochu and Mitsui to purchase two 75,000 cubic metre methane tankers to transport Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). The financing agreement was signed between Sonatrach, the National Company for Maritime Transport of Hydrocarbons and Chemicals and the French bank Caylon. The estimated $160m project cost is financed up to 75 per cent by Caylon. (Le Quotidien, APS)
