Date Sector on the Rise in Tunisia

According to Essahafa newspaper, farming industry sources estimate Tunisian date output volume to hit a record 122,000 tonnes in the current season compared with 111,000 tons last season. The same sources indicated that Tunisian date production rose from 75,000 tonnes in the late 1970s to 111,000 tonnes last year. Tunisia is currently ranked 12th in the world in terms of date production and in 4th in terms of date export. (albawaba)
