ZTE Corporation Opens Manufacturing Facility in Algeria

ZTE Corporation, China's largest supplier of telecommunications equipment, is set to strengthen its position in North Africa and the Middle East by opening a manufacturing facility in Algeria. In an agreement with Algerian INATEL, ZTE will look to manufacture wireless fixed terminal and other equipment in Algeria. Xiao Chunfa, general manager of ZTE Algeria, said his company will gradually increase its investment in projects across Algeria, and will utilise its advanced technologies to contribute to the national construction programme currently under way.

At the manufacturing agreement signing ceremony, Algerian Post and Information Minister Amar Tou said with the further opening up of the Algerian telecom market, the government looks forward to greater foreign investment and hopes other foreign companies like ZTE would co-operate with local companies.
