The Network of Arab-American Professionals of New York (NAAP) and the Algerian-American Cultural Center (AACC) will jointly host the Third Annual Arab-American Cultural Street Festival and the Seventh Annual North African Cultural Street Festival on 9 July.

The event will be an important day of celebration and sharing of Arab culture and identity by New York citizens. The 2005 festival will kick off New York City Arab Heritage Week, a week of events celebrating Arab culture and contributions to society. The NAAP and the AACC expect even more than the 12,000 visitors for last year's festivities.

Attendees will be able to sample regional food. Vendors will line the street offering a variety of products, exhibiting original crafts, displaying Arabic literature, and playing regional music. An Arab cafe will provide all who attend the opportunity to relax and enjoy performances such as belly dancing, debka, traditional drumming, and whirling dervishes. (NAAPonline.com)
