A cultural series called "Wednesdays at the Embassy" was launched at the Moroccan Embassy in Paris on 16 March with the presentation of the book "Travels in Muslim France," co-authored by Sadek Hajji and Stephanie Marteau. The series aims to promote literary news, art works or any other initiative related to Morocco that will foster better knowledge and dialogue between French and Muslim communities. (Menara)

I am a Moroccan calligrapher and painter. I would like to meet the official in charge of the artistic and cultural field to cooperate in this sector, creating workshops, expositions, seminars… I try through this job to culturally promote Moroccan calligraphy art by organizing regular training sessions and promotion activities. In this many criteria should be respected. We shouldn’t forget to make these events coincide with religious and civic celebrations which are important for people.

Rachid El Hachemi, I am a calligrapher and artist. I have previously asked officials in charge of the cultural and artistic field in the Moroccan embassy in Paris to institute an annual prize under the patronage of his majesty the King Mohamed VI dedicated to the Moroccan heritage namely Moroccan calligraphy. This Moroccan calligraphy is very nice both in writing or in decorating Moroccan mosques. The best example is old mosques which have been built for centuries. They are a testimony of this beautiful calligraphy. So there are no obstacles to organizing fairs, workshops, seminars…I solicit officials in this field to consider the matter. Salam alikum.
