"American Corner" Inaugurated in Algiers

The "American Corner" wing of the National Library of El Hamma in Algiers was dedicated recently by Algerian Minister of Culture Khalida Toumi and US Ambassador to Algeria Richard W. Erdman.
The new section allows researchers and Algerian readers to learn about American culture and establishes cultural co-operation between the national library and the American embassy. Toumi called for reinforcement of artistic and cultural exchanges between Algeria and the United States, inviting American citizens to discover Algerian culture. (La Nouvelle Republique)
