New Berber Language Centre Director in Algeria
2004-12-28
Algeria's Education Minister Aboubakr Benbouzid named Dourari Abderrazak to the director-general post of the National Pedagogic and Language Centre for teaching Tamazight (Berber) language. The centre aims to promote the language, develop scientific language studies and train teachers.
"We have amended the 1976 constitution and Tamazight is now being taught from the first year of the primary school and…we will teach it to include the last year of the secondary school," Benbouzid said after announcing Abderrazak's appointment. (albawaba.com)
