Marrakech Film Festival Gathers Celebrities

Sir Sean Connery and Laurence Fishburne are among the stars expected to turn out for the fourth annual Marrakech Film Festival currently underway. British director Alan Parker is presiding over a judging panel that includes Brazilian writer Paulo Coehlo and American actress Rosanna Arquette.

The festival is highlighting Moroccan and Indian films and honouring the careers of Connery, Italian actress Claudia Cardinale and Egyptian director Youssef Chahine. Organisers said Spanish movie star Victoria Abril and Americandirector Oliver Stone, who filmed part of "Alexander" in Morocco, are among the other celebrities expected to attend. The festival ends Sunday (12 December). (AP)
