Film on Algerian Independence Listed as Collector Item
2004-12-05
"Les Oliviers de la Justice," a rare, but well-known 1962 film about Algeria's struggle for independence, is now listed as a collector's item in the Montparnasse Edition encyclopedia. Filmed in Algeria and directed by James Blue on the eve of the Evian Accords, "Les Oliviers de la Justice" is the first full-length film to deal directly with the war for Algerian independence. The film is based on a novel by Jean Pelegri. (albawaba.com)
