2004-11-15

[AFP]

The fourth Marrakech International Film Festival will take place from 6 December - 12 December. This year the festival will highlight 14 films from Europe, the US, South America, the Maghreb countries, other parts of Africa, and the Arab world.

The festival is also important to the country's young film enthusiasts

The festival aims to place Morocco on the international cinematic map. King Mohamed VI and other authorities are working to promote the festival, in hopes of increasing tourism to Marrakech and creating jobs. The festival is also important to the country's young film enthusiasts who are expected to network with international counterparts.

Morocco attracts many Western filmmakers because of its scenery. Hit films such as Lawrence of Arabia and the upcoming Alexander were shot in Morocco. (albawaba.com)

At the opening of the festival, we noticed and heard a demonstration a few meters away from the entrance...Is there an explanation to this?. The festival is a good step towards the future of Morocco.

It is natural that the festival of Morocco be one of the most important world festivals. Morocco is the land of hospitality and generosity which rivals world festival. Let’s not forget the presence great traditional attire for all hosts. I am so proud of being Moroccan and proud of my country Morocco.

I am happy with this festival. I hope that it achieves more fame worldwide, to rival other festivals. But why are there no Moroccans on the jury?

Jawad Posted 2008-11-21

A fairly good festival it is just because Morocco has no experience in filmmaking.

walid Posted 2008-11-22
