Film Festival "Medfilm 2004" Opens in Rome

The 10th annual Mediterranean film festival "MEDFILM 2004" opened in Rome on Tuesday (9 November). This year's MEDFILM theme is "Cinema and Reality for the Construction of a Culture of Peace". Two hundred films from 40 countries will be screened at the 11-day event. Five Algerian films will be shown, four in the competition, and one, "Le vent des Aurès", by Mohamed Lakhdar Hamina, will be showcased in a historical review. The four competing Algerian films are "Les suspects" by Kamel Dehane (2004), "Un rêve algérien" by Jean Pierre Lledo (2003), "Rumeur" by Mohamed Latrèche (2003) and "Un fils" by Amal Bedjaoui (2004).
