The estimated 100,000 Moroccans living in Canada can now watch Moroccan television on channel 2M being broadcast by the Intelsat satellite. At a ceremony for the channel's launch in Quebec, Morocco's Minister of Communication Nabil Benabdallah announced the future creation of a Moroccan satellite channel called "Al Maghribia". Moroccan Ambassador to Canada Mohamed Tangi said 2M will not only maintain links between Moroccans and their homeland, but will also open a window to Morocco for Canadians. (MAP)
