Reader Weekly Feedback Review
2005-12-22
A summary and commentary on select reader feedback from 15 December to 22 December.
Feedback addressed a smattering of topics in the past week. Abass said, "Long live Bouteflika, president of the future." The reader was apparently pleased Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika has recovered enough from his illness to leave a Paris hospital. We, too, are heartened to see that Bouteflika is better and can soon fully resume his duties of leading Algeria.
A reader calling himself Mistreated Youths noted, "We established a non-profit organisation and started providing social services in our communities." Magharebia applauds such efforts and hopes to be a valued partner in serving Maghreb communities.
Benha asked, "Please could you let me know (email or even address) how to post a request for work to the DGED or even DST in Morocco. Firstly, I'm a young man aged 26, advanced technician in audiovisual equipment. I hope you will be able to help me."
We regret to hear of situations in which young Maghreb people with seemingly good education and qualifications have difficulty finding suitable employment. While we do not have contact information for the two agencies mentioned, we invite Benha and all readers to check out the employment Web sites in the links section of Magharebia.
Jamila stated, "Royal Moroccan Armed Forces (FAR) team every time. My name is Jamila from Morocco and I love the character of this team. Really it is one of the best teams." Maghreb football is a significant part of our site and we hope to enable readers from the region, and especially expatriates separated from local media, to follow their favourite clubs and national teams. Football stories can be found in our daily sports news briefs, Monday sports roundup and sometimes in the features.
We would like to specially thank readers for kind comments such as "Good luck for your Web site! All best greetings" (Nabil), "Very beautiful article" (Ryem) and "Good Internet site" (DM Productions).
Karim provided constructive criticism by saying "Short on information, thank you." The purpose of the news briefs is to provide a synopsis of the most important aspects of a story. We provide the source at the end of snippet so that readers can get more detailed information if they desire.
Two disturbing trends that have been increasing in recent weeks have been an increase in feedback with no e-mail address and feedback with profane language. We regret the lack of e-mail addresses, especially in complimentary or thought-provoking feedback, because we can not answer and start the meaningful dialogue we desire. We will not respond to feedbacks containing profanity.
