Algeria got its first medal and it was a bronze. Magharebia is either behind on its news or could not stomach Algeria having a victory. Oh, if this were a Moroccan or Tunisian medal, their news would be well informed. This harshness towards my country, Algeria, will only help us on the score board! A word to the wise!

It is a shame about the medals. Indeed, we are sorry about this. But, the important thing is to be there and to have participated in the worldwide demonstration. Congratulations to all the men and women athletes of the Maghreb for being selected. You have our respect for the conscientious efforts that all you men and women have made, whether you were selected or not. All the men and women deserve our admiration and our encouragement, from Libya to Mauritania. Let us give our thoughts also to the others, without and distinctions made about nationality or religion. The athletic spirits is beyond all political considerations. “If you are different from me, my brother, then you are far from wronging me, rather you enrich me.” –Saint Exupéry
