At a three-day international colloquium on the Tidjani brotherhood that began November 23rd at Algeria's University of Laghouat, participants discussed social contributions made by the order, the creation and development of the Tidjani brotherhood and how the brotherhood is viewed abroad. In attendance were a hundred intellectuals and cultural figures from 29 countries.
At the opening ceremony, Algerian Prime Minister Abdelaziz Belkhadem said that he wanted "to use this meeting and the zaouias (religious centre) both as a centre of influence and as platforms from which the precepts of our religion can be propagated."
The founder of the Tidjani brotherhood, Sheikh Sidi Ahmed Ettidjani Ben Mohamed Ben Mokhtar, a descendant of Hossein Ibn Ali, was born in Ain Madhi in Laghouat in 1737 (1150 AH). After devoting his life to religious studies, the Sheikh died in 1815 (1230 AH) in Fès, where he was buried in his religious school of Zaouia.
Ain Madhi is considered the birthplace of this brotherhood, where solidarity and mutual aid between followers are taught. Mohamed Habib Ettidjani, a descendant of the spiritual sheikh, explained that Sidi Ahmed used to say, "You can only know God once your soul has been cleansed of evil."
Following in the footsteps of these two journeys, the travels of the sheikhs of the Tidjani brotherhood included stopping-places which made it possible to cultivate Islam.
"The meeting itself is a reflection of the desire to draw strength from a powerful support base in Africa. Tidjani networks are particularly influential in Senegal, Mali, Sudan and particularly Nigeria. The meeting must therefore promote an 'Islam with a human face'," Syrian writer Ihssan Baadarani said.
"This conference has reawakened true brotherhood in all of us since we have left behind geographical borders and restored our spiritual relationship," Souleimane Ahmed Mohamed Osmane, a senior lecturer at the University of Khartoum in Sudan, said.
"Educating people, cleansing souls and good deeds and words are all more important than the warlike aspect of a religion which some political movements would liken to nothing more than a militant banner", said the president of the Algerian national union of zaouias, Mahmoud Chaalal.
President Abdelaziz Bouteflika stressed the need to "emphasise the spiritual, human and aesthetic values of Islam when we explain it to non-Muslims and show them the true nature of this great religion", in a message read at the meeting.
Ain Madhi's citizens regard the rehabilitation of their zaouia as a sign of their acceptance by authorities. "We owe everything we have to the zaouia, even the tarmac on our roads and the building of the hotel which welcomes visitors," teacher Ahmed Larousi said.

Religious affairs is very sensitive issue and it needs to be encourage. It would encourage the readers and the society to be more spiritual.

Is true that the origin of Sidi Ahmed Tijani is from the tribe of Abda on the Moroccan Atlantic coast. It is a little strange for this legend, the founder of the city of Fez to take this region for his teachings and preachings until his death and burial in it. It is now the mecca of all Tijanis in the world. the shrine of this righteous man is a populated place and a milestone of architecture and a comfortable place of visitors!

Salam Alaikoum, this is an enormous deed, there's no power but from God, return to your Creator you Tijani people, and stop this disbelief, God accepts repentance and is merciful, and stop these heresies, every heresy is an aberrabnce and every aberrance leads to hell, please God save us from hell

In the name of God, "O ye who believe! If a wicked person comes to you with any news, ascertain the truth, lest ye harm people unwittingly, and afterwards become full of repentance for what ye have done." As long as the law is the law of God and the judgement is that of God alone, we shouldn't interfere with His way and wisdom however they are, we should just contemplate and think about Him and come closer to Him, but to accuse if disbelief with our ideas and allegations, this is a serious crime the perpetrator of which could nearly have been overdaring towards God by setting and implementing rules...following a whim. I'm not fit to talk about my teacher and model to the path of God, Sidi Ahmed Tijani, but when I became so fond of his traces, I asked about him, I read deeply, I asked about him and compared it to the Islamic law and found out that it was its light, and I asked about his youth life I found out that this his biography is one that everyone who has a pure love to God aspires to, all the reprobation we hear turns around one concept: why does he alone has such a status? We'll notice that it's the same reply coming from the depths of the souls of the people of the prophets peace be upon them, as if they forget that God grants His mercy upon those He wants. Before accusing anyone with such a serious judgement we have first of all to fear God. Peace and Prayer of God upon our prophet Mohamed, the guider to the right path and upon his family.
محمد Posted 2007-05-14
Stop these superstitions and heresy, were these Tariqas and heresey in the era of the prophet peace and prayer be upon him or in the era of the companions of the prophet or the righteous antecedents, there's no power and no will but from God
اك.ط Posted 2007-05-15
In the name of God and peace upon the prophet, he came with the white evidence, it's night is like its evening, only the abberant can be diverted from it, we knw our religion isn't related, anyone whatever his status, even the leaders of the four doctrines have said if my oinion is contradictory with the Koran or the tradition of the prophet just ignore it, so there's no place in our religion for something else but to draw from the Koran and the tradition which was grasped by the companions, but to beg in the name of someone else than God, even if it's the messenger of God, a man has come to the prophet peace be upon him in his life, and said with God's will and your will, and the prophet peace be upon him said do you make me in the same rank as God, just say with God's will, so do you find in the Koran taking knowledge from God by heart and we don't take knowledge from the dead, so the prophet is dead and we don't take knowledge from him, he ordered us in our religion to resort to the law in a a catch worth a quarter of a dirhams and to cut the hand of the thief, so where did we take this rule from, from the dead people who implemented this rule

My question is did Cheikh say my foot is on the neck of every Wali??? And please send me the verses recitated by the Tariqa and whether the prayer of Fatih is correct, God's peace and prayer on the prophet...
عمر Posted 2007-06-06
The problem is in the way of dialog because many throw their accusations without any valid reference. Who said that Tijani worship their cheikh and not God, if this was trie, why do they pray, fast, read the koran and do all other orders and worships. They just believe in his goodness and wilaya thus they followed his path and stick to his prayers which are limited to 1- Asking God's foregiveness. 2- Prayer on the prophet peace and prayer be upon him. 3- Saying there's no other God but Allah. Anyone who said there's no other God but Allah enters Islam and no one can accuse him of infidelity. Most of us know the story of the prophet, peace and prayer be upon him, when he scolded a companion for killing an idolater after converting to Islam. He told him (Have you opened his heart? ...). Peace and prayer of God upon our master Mohamed...
عبد السلام البقالي Posted 2007-06-08
In the name of God, the path to God is clear and straight, not interrupted by vices or mediators... The only way that we have to follow is the white proof which was left to us by the Prophet (peace be upon him). Its day is like its night, only the perishables will deviate from it: it's the book of God and the tradition of the Prophet, any other thing is just a calumny, heresy, a dissipation of paths and call for sectarianism...I've read profusely about Ahmed Tidjani, buried in Fes and who was born in Algeria, some of the exaggerators have elevated him to the level of prophet and have spun miracles about him and not dignities. Some say (Tidjani had sit with the prophet and he recited to him the Koran in Warach version and he told him...it was sent in this way)) Is there any worse perversity? ...This narrow sphere will not be sufficient to enumerate more beliefs of the Tidjanis in their cheikh... عمر Posted 2007-06-18
For those who want to debate for the truth, I will sum up the topic by a question and you have to reply from the holy Koran and the tradition of the prophet. Our basis and objective should be righteous. Here's the question: What's the rule about someone who sees the Prophet (peace and prayer be upon him) while awake (not in sleep)? and so: What's the rule about someone who pretends that? And what's the rule about someone who believes and supports him? I hope that the reference will be from the Koran and tradition so that there will be no difference.... I will begin my reply: Firstly.... There's no single verse from the Koran or a valid tradition forbidding the possibility of this sight, meaning that there is no evidence preventing such an act to happen, preventing to say that or believing it. Here the issue is limited to these two cases: whether this declaration is true or a lie. And here we remember the saying of the Prophet (peace and prayer be upon him) "If anyone lies to me he should await for his bench in hell" ... Those pretenders should bear the responsibility of what they say, but the religion doesn't authorize us to describe them as liars, because we don't know the hidden. Secondly, supposing that the death of the Prophet (peace and prayer be upon him) is like the death of everyone else, how are the deeds of the nation presented to him every Monday and Tuesday? And how does God restore him his soul to answer the greeting of anyone greeting him? Before replying, you should remember what God says in His book: "Not a word does he utter but there is a sentinel by him, ready"... And if you don't know, this is not a problem, but what we fear is that when you pretend what you don't know....And for those who think that this Tariqa is a call.....for sectarianism and disruption from the religion of God, your belief is wrong, otherwise they would have been separated from other societies and sects. Thanks to God the relations they have show how much they preserve the religion and that they are far from extremism and the call for sectarianism. Thanks to God history shows that it's free of wars and discords with others and this is still the case and will remain so indefinitely. Peace and prayer of God upon the Prophet.
وغانيم مراكش Posted 2007-07-05
I say succinctly to all those who accuse the Sufi Tariqas of heresy and making lies about the tradition of the Prophet and the Koran: have you ever joined a Sunni Tariqa for a reasonable time, to make an objective judgment, free of any calumnies and lies? Have you enlightened your experience with adequate sciences, namely the science of Kum, so that you get informed about what's specific to the followers of this art? If you don't improve your morality and wear the shroud of the pious, you should find your flaw and you'll find it inchallah. And then judge with the conviction you've reached. All the good lies in good faith. God has selected close to Him, and they've no choice in that. And I ask God that you'll be among them. Amen.

"God's religion is Islam", "If anyone chooses other religion than Islam, it will not be accepted". As to the declarations of some brothers supporting some saints, in my opinion, this doesn't serve the religion in any way as it only serves some parties alone namely some ruling regimes based on the myth of Chorfa or belonging to the family of the prophet. We have to overcome these lies and discuss the interest of the country and the people, contribute to educating our children on the basis of true sciences, not stories based on myths, and work on building a state of institutions subject to the rule of law not the graces of cheikhs and saints. I hope that you'll accept my opinion with open-heartedness. Thank you.

In the name of God the Merciful, peace and prayer upon the best of all creatures. A man defines mysticism saying: mysticism is not wearing wool which becomes ragged…... and not weeping when you hear singers, nor shouting, dancing and singing .. . And not disturbance as you’ve become insane but mysticism is to be pure ... and follow the right track and the Quran and religion, see God with humility and sadness ... for your sins all the life sad, God grants His mercy to whom He wishes, and peace upon His chosen worshippers. Our cheikh Tijani, God bless him, was asked ‘do they say lies on you’, he said yes they say lies on me, so if they tell you something you should weigh it with the balance of religions, if it agrees with it otherwise ignore it. History shows the righteousness of the Cheilh and his knowledge in religion and his devotion. Life has opened its hands to him but he preferred the path of God. And now comes a person of our time and weighs the value of the cheikh, it’s a sign of the end of life. People should fear God. The Tijjani Tariqa is one of the ways of peace on the track of Islam to God. Peace and prayer of God upon the prophet.

Hello and Hi to all of my brothers and sisters. And, God willing, may the Saintly Prophet be your guarantor. I would just like to say that anyone who criticizes Tidjani, that Sheikh Tidjani is both a man of God and of science: he mastered the Qur’an at the age of 7; he learned the five juridical schools by heart by the age of 16; he was conferred the title of Mufti and became a professor and teacher at the Al Karaouine University in Morocco, one of the most prestigious universities in the world; he was praised by Moulay Souleymane, who recognized him as one of the greatest scholars of his time; he has devoted his life to God almighty; he has given everything to the Prophet, in his obedience; and the council he gives us today demand that he is a Holy Man. I challenge anyone who has mastered that which the Sheikh has mastered (e.g. sciences, etc.) if you are being honest with yourselves before you offer criticism. Are you sure you possess the understanding necessary in judging someone who surpasses you in Science. It would be better for you if you were. I advise you to be god-fearing and not to judge your brothers. Do not think yourselves more pious than others. You know, as God tells us in the Q’ran, that the prophet Moses met a man by the name of Roudar. In this story, the man seemed to surpass Moses in knowledge. Moses was not literate in this man’s science. This led many people to think the man a prophet, as his science was unable to be learned in a book, rather, it can only be acquired through time. If a prophet like Moses was unable to know all of God’s science, how can anyone say today that he understood all of God’s science. Only God and God alone is permitted to judge in any way, shape or form. Be humble. Tidjania is a centre for the education of the souls. Come visit, and you will see.

This is because I met a person belonging to that brotherhood; he left an important impact on the pace of my empty life. I even asked the advice of my father and asked him for some information, but I found myself in trouble with him, because he rebuffed my request and started to ask me why such ideas preoccupy me and who inspired me. The right religion is that the human being believes in God with all his senses, to believe in God, His angels, books, massengers, the last day, destiny with its bad and good, to witness that there's no other God but Allah and that Mohamed is the messenger of God, perform prayer, pay alimony, fast in Ramadan, make pilgrimage to Mecca if he has the powers. The messenger of God, peace and prayer upon him, said 'I left to you, the book of God and my tradition, if you abide by them, you will never go astray after me'. To sum up, the Tidjani brotherhood is a falsehood and sham. Remember the saying of the Prophet (peace and prayer be upon him): “My Oumma will be divided into seventy-three fractions, seventy-two are in hell and one in paradise. They asked: Which one is in paradise, he said: What my companions and I are following.” Remember also the saying of the Prophet (peace and prayer be upon him): “I left you something. If you abide by it, you will never go astray after me, the Book of God and my tradition”. He didn’t say Sidi Tidjani or another saint.

Review everything written about the Tidjani brotherhood on all sites so that you see clearly the truth. Commenting on this serious topic doesn’t need any disputes but rather requires a calm reading of the thought, doctrine and behaviour of Tidjani followers. Tidjani brotherhood is a Sufi movement. We should ask ourselves, what was the attitude of the Tidjani brotherhood from the French colonisation of Algeria? And, whether it was true that the brotherhood was an agent of the coloniser France, is it true that the prominent figures of this brotherhood in Ain Madi, Timassine and Kemmar in Oued Souf served the French colonizer and betrayed the Algerian Jihad from 1841 to 1952? Try to be reasonable, far from any chauvinism. Try to read the writings of honest historians in this regard. Peace and mercy of God upon you.

In the name of God most gracious most merciful, peace and prayer be upon the most honourable prophet, his family, companions and faithful followers to the day of judgment. Before we talk about the Tijani brotherhood and its supporters we must know the conditions of its emergence and the phases founder Ahmed went through in his education and learning and then search for the cause which made him settle in Morocco instead of his country of origin Algeria… But today, reality imposes itself, Tijanis, and I would like to say the sick or Poor who loved God, His messenger and the companions of the messenger of God and everyone who loved them for the cause of God, the evidence that Tijanis love God, His messenger and His companions and the righteous people to the day of Judgment is that they read the book of God morning and evening. They preserve the purity of the soul and body because their worship and words impose on them to be clean. In their worship they recall the soul of the messenger of God peace and payer upon him as well as the souls of his companions with the protection of God. Their worship is praise, repentance to God, prayer upon the messenger of God. They conclude it by prayer and asking guidance for all Muslims. By the way reading the words doesn’t make the sick neglect the orders of God Almight, they are rather a continuity to the praise of God for the His grace and its completeness. There is much to say and if you want to know more go down to the field and you will make sure by yourself. There are educators who take care of education and tutoring. There are many books written by good scholars who were leaving aside the whims of life and who produced the best of their books about the knowledge of the truths, God lights and spiritual secrets by which God has opened their minds and visions, this is what we miss as young people. We were entertained by life and attracted by its image which we see with our eyes and unveiled to us what makes us know the reality of our existence...

But I blame every Muslim for his lack of jealousy for the messenger of God, peace and prayer of God be upon him, whom we follow, and for every Caliphate or sheikh of Islam who carefully followed the steps of the messenger, peace and prayer of God be upon him. As they have sacrificed everything dear and cheap. They have even sacrificed their souls to make this pure religion reach mercenary insects like dogs which are snapping their master when they are granted food. I am so sad and sorry for the idle people who debate scholars without knowledge. Oh you who pretend the science of philosophy. You have learnt by heart a few lines in the schools of ignorance to debate and attack those who spent all their lives in the obedience of God and His prophet. Firstly, compare what you learnt to what they learnt. Then, discuss what they wrote. There are many of them who have deeply studied and learnt but we made a mistake in glorifying them , then they fell into ignorance.

We highly respect the sheikhs of the Tijani brotherhood. We also have the least doubt about their faithfulness and piety. However, we blame them for transforming the brotherhood into a political forum on which this opportunist category lives in order to achieve ephemeral material goals. This brotherhood has achieved a high rank but reality sourly says that it has turned into a support committee. If things remain as they are, it will become one day just a trace after an existence. History will write that the heritage of the ancestors was lost by the descendants. So fear God sheikhs of the brotherhood in the name of the founding sheikh, may God rest his soul.

Do you challenge me Abasajad? Do you accept a public debate? Do you undermine me even if I was recognized by Sheikh Soulaimane to have a good opinion and wisdom? I ask you to go down to the field for a challenge. I am holding my sword which will always be raised in your faces. You are the bats of darkness (you have stolen the supplies of Sheikh Soulaimane as it is said in the dialect).

Yes, I defy you sheikh Muslim. This issue should be ended. I hope that you leave aside the honourable sheikh. You are known for your deceit and treachery. Your satanic deceits won’t trick our respectable sheikhs such as sheikh Bestami and Sheikh Said. I won’t bear a sword as you do. I just hold my book and knowledge. With the help of God I will make you bitterly regret your words. A big greetings to our sheikhs all over the world.

God’s greetings to you master of Sheikhs Abou Sajeda Al Idrissi, the moon of the dark night. How dare this aberrant man challenge you and downgrade you? You are known for your piety and devoutness. So don’t mind this scholar who isn’t associated to this brotherhood except that his name is Muslim. You know quite well that behind him there is another aberrant sheikh who pushes him to destruction. He is sheikh Soulaimane and sheikh Abou Mouniss. So counter them all and we are with you. May God grant you success.

All that a good Muslim searches for is his approach to God. We know that Man is weak-willed, above all in respect to religion. At the end, so much that he searched for salvation through surrogate rakats and zikri and its invocations. He ended up distant from the sunna of the Prophet. In conclusion, may God guide the faithful to the right path.
