Moroccans, Algerians perform well at Madrid track meet

Morocco's Adil El Kaouch was second in the 1500m race in the Meeting de Atletismo Madrid on Monday (17 July). Compatriots Mohamed Moustaoui and Yassine Bensghir took fifth and sixth place. Moroccan-born Rachid Ramzi of Bahrain and Morocco's Amine Laalou took second and third in the 800m, while Mouhssin Chehibi took seventh. Algerian Issam Nima was second in the men's long jump in 8.09m.

In the women's 800m race, Moroccan Hasna Benhassi was third in 2:02.02, followed by compatriot Amina Ait Hammou in 2:02.10. In the 1500m, Algeria's Nouria Mérah-Benida finished third and Moroccan Mariem Alaoui Selsouli was seventh. (MAP, IAAF)
