Tunisia, Morocco with first gold medals in African Junior Tennis Championship

Tunisia's Sami Ghorbel won the final in the 14 and under event at the 29th ITF/CAT African Junior Tennis Championships held in Cairo, defeating Moroccan Anas Amallah in straight sets. Nadia Lalami from Morocco brushed aside Olfa Dhaoui from Tunisia, also in straight sets, to win the girls' 16 and under singles title.

In the semi-finals of the boys' 18 and under events, Morocco's Houssam Yassine knocked out Christian Vitulli of Kenya. In the other semi-final, Reda El Amrani of Morocco defeated Tunisian Wael Kilani to set up an all-Moroccan final. In the girls' 18 and under competition, the title will be contested by Fatima El Allami of Morocco and Amira Benaissa from Algeria. The Moroccan team is on equal standings with the Egyptian team in the race to win the team trophy. (Le Temps, ITF)
