Tunisian-born French Chief Rabbi Joseph Sitruk, who presides over a community of 600,000 people whom are mostly either born in North Africa or second generation from the region, called Tunisia an example of how religions can live together, according to Tunisian newspaper La Presse.
Sitruk spoke recently at the Chaire Ben Ali for Dialogue between Races and Religions and called Tunisia an "oasis of peace." The country hosted Yasser Arafat for over a decade and is home to the second-largest Jewish community in the Arab world. (albawaba.com)
