Morocco dismantles alleged terror cell in Ceuta

28/06/2009

Moroccan authorities arrested five suspected members of a Salafia Jihadia cell last week in the Spanish enclave of Ceuta, local and international press reported on Friday (June 26th). The suspects are charged with trafficking drugs between Spain and Morocco. The group's reputed leader, Abou Yacine, was released from prison in 2008 after serving two years for ties to another terrorist group, Ansar el Mehdi. Two of the suspects are Moroccan, while three are Spanish nationals of Moroccan origin.
