Algerian authorities cancelled a human rights seminar in Zeralda, Le Matin reported on Wednesday (May 27th). The Algerian League for the Defence of Human Rights (LADDH) denounced the decision as "an attack on the freedom of assembly" protected by the Algerian constitution. Some 25 young journalists from Algiers, Annaba, Tlemcen, Oran, Djelfa, Tizi Ouzou, and Bejaia were scheduled to attend the 3-day conference, along with human rights NGO representatives from Morocco and Tunisia.
