Algeria's Le Forum des Chefs d'Entreprises (FCE) asked the government on Sunday (December 28th) to postpone adhering to the Arab Free Trade Area (AFTA) for two years, local press reported. FCE President Reda Hamiani raised concerns about the potential for foreign products to flood the domestic market and thus cause the closure of Algerian factories, especially in the most vulnerable sectors such as agribusiness. He insisted that Algerian companies need more time to prepare.
