On the occasion of World AIDS Day on Monday (December 1st), Morocco's Ministry of Health reported that the country has a low HIV infection rate of 0.08% among the general population. The cumulative number of AIDS cases reported since 1986 is 2,798, MAP reported.
In Algeria, L'Expression noted that since 1985, 817 people have been diagnosed with AIDS. Educational events are being held for young people across the country to mark World Aids Day, local press reported.
