Conditions in Algerian prisons have improved significantly, National Consultative Commission for Promotion and Protection of Human Rights (CNCPPDH) Chief Farouk Ksentini announced on Sunday (October 12th). Speaking on the sidelines of a conference on imprisoned individuals organised to mark the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Ksentini added that members of the commission found during recent unexpected visits to a number of detention facilities that the administration had taken important measures to improve conditions.
