The fifth Amazigh World Congress (CMA) will begin October 31st, organisers announced Tuesday (September 23rd) in the Algerian host city of Tizi-Ouzou. Representatives of Amazigh communities and cultural associations worldwide, "from the Canary Islands to the Egyptian island of Siwa, Egypt", are expected to attend the event, El Moudjahid quoted Algerian CMA Member Touzene Hachemi as saying. The Congress was founded in 1995 to protect and promote Amazigh civilisation and cultural heritage.
