Dana Petroleum will begin drilling an exploration well in Morocco on the Bouanane license, the company said in a press release Wednesday (August 20th). Moroccan state oil and mining company ONHYM has a 25% interest in the project. Morocco is trying to develop domestic oil and gas production in order to reduce its dependence on imported energy resources. So far, however, oil and gas exploration efforts, mainly in offshore areas, have not yielded significant results.
