The Arab Network for Human Rights Information (ANHRI) called on Moroccan authorities on Tuesday (August 12th) to release a 22-year-old student activist imprisoned since July 21st for what the group says was merely "having opinions and expressing them peacefully". Jadda Boubkar was arrested while leaving the university in Taza City for his criticism of educational policies and police repression against students, the Cairo-based organisation said. The group demanded that Morocco "put an end to police repression and guarantee the right to peaceful protest and free expression".
