French company Alstom signed a 335 million-euro agreement with Tunisian state utility STEG to establish a 400MW combined-cycle power plant in Ghannounch, southern Tunisia. According to government figures, some 96% of all households are electrified in Tunisia, compared to 86% in 1994, and the demand for electricity is growing at 7% per year.
