Algeria and France signed three agreements on Saturday (June 21st) during a two-day visit to Algiers by French Prime Minister Francois Fillon. The accords provide for co-operation in the fields of civilian nuclear energy, defence and finance. The deals are reportedly intended to precede talks with officials aimed at persuading Algeria to back France-led efforts to establish a Mediterranean Union at a Paris summit planned for July 13th.
