The Libyan International Organisation for Peace, Care and Relief (LIOPCR) and the Italian Council for Refugees (CIR) signed a memorandum of understanding on Friday (February 29th) in Rome aimed at managing the migrant flow from Africa to Europe and curbing illegal immigration, Reuters reported. According to figures released on Friday by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), more than 1,100 illegal immigrants, mainly Africans, arrived in Italy in last week after crossing the Mediterranean from Libya.
