Moroccan Foreign Minister Taieb Fassi-Fihri arrived in Nouakchott on Tuesday (February 5th) for a visit with Mauritanian President Sheikh Sidi Ould Abdellahi, Panapress reported. A message from King Mohammed VI to the Mauritanian president voiced hope for the strengthening of bilateral relations in all fields, including a deepening of political co-operation. Reportedly, Fihri’s discussions with Mauritanian officials will focus on the rise of terrorism in the region. Mauritania has witnessed three terrorist attacks in the past five weeks.
