Extradition decision for Khalifa expected this month

A British court will rule on August 29th on the extradition to France or Algeria of Rafik Khalifa in Algeria's largest fraud scandal, AFP quoted lawyers as saying on Thursday (August 2nd). Algeria sentenced Khalifa to life in prison in March, and French authorities have also issued a warrant for his arrest. The British court decided Thursday to put off the decision on the grounds that there were no formal charges against Khalifa in France. Khalifa, who has lived in exile in London since 2003, was first arrested in February of this year for money laundering.
