Algerian minister invites Italian businessmen to invest in his country

Algerian Participation and Promotion of Investments Minister Abdelhamid Temmar invited Italian investors and businessmen to seize the "exceptional opportunity offered today by the Algerian market, so that they embark on the ambitious economic project launched by Algeria." Temmar was speaking at the two-day 4th Euro-Mediterranean Laboratory Conference held in Milan on 17 July.

Italian company St Gobin expressed interested in privatisation of the subsidiary of the National Company of Glass and Abrasives of Oran, while Complex Bozi Onissam was interested in privatisation of two cement factories and several tourism projects. Temmar also announced that Algeria will sell a stake in Banque du Developpement Locale to private investors. (APS, El Khabar, AGI, Reuters)
