The Moroccan Ministry of Tourism, Craft Industry and Social Economy and the Spanish Agency of International Co-operation signed a $4.6m partnership agreement to promote the craft industry in the northern and northeastern regions of Tangier-Tetuan and Taza-Al Hoceima-Taounante on Monday (22 May) in Tetouan. The accord, to be implemented over four years, provides for regional development based on analysis of the sector, institutional support, training of the craftsmen, research and development to improve products, commercial promotion, and pilot programmes. The move aims also at raising the income of the craftsmen and contributing to the improvement of their products. (MAP)
