Spanish real estate company Marina d'Or was selected to build 6,300 low-cost houses in the new town of Tamesna near Rabat. The $180m project aims to reduce the proliferation of shantytowns around the capital and will also include stores, shops and other facilities and utilities. The new town, with an estimated population of 250,000 people, will be built in four years, according to a press release of the Moroccan Housing and Urbanism Ministry. (MAP)
