Representatives of donor agencies, commercial banking institutions and business organizations are meeting in Tunis to discuss support for Africa's small and medium-size enterprises. The two-day session of the Small and Medium Enterprises Facility in Africa has a theme of "Filling up the missing middle in SME financing in sub-Saharan Africa."
The event, opened by African Development Bank Vice President Theodore Nkodo, brought together experts from multilateral and bilateral development institutions such as the World Bank, the International Labour Organization and the European Investment Bank. Representatives from commercial banks and private sector businesses such as Britain's Barclays Bank and TUNINVEST, a Tunisian risk management firm, also attended. (albawaba.com)
