Euromag, founded in 1993 in Casablanca as one of APEX's Value Added Resellers in North Africa, installed and supports the new OmniVox3D Applications Servers, which keep on servicing popular automated customer service applications. OmniVox3D is APEX's latest version of Application Servers for both Internet provider and public switched telephone networks.
APEX is one of the world's biggest providers of Applications Servers and Multi-Service Platforms for enhanced services and real-time billing solutions. Established in 1989, the company's main mission was to provide open, intelligent call processing systems. According to the company's Web site, "Our goal was to offer intuitive Service Creation Environments to free Service Providers/Carriers from their dependence on closed, proprietary systems and put service creation capabilities into their own hands or those of independent developers".
Maroc Telecom, Morocco's leading telecommunications and Internet provider, as well as the market giant in landlines and wireless telecommunications, acquired APEX services in June 2000. The telecommunication company installed its first OmniVox that same year in order to address the numerous issues due to changed telephone numbers. Maroc Telecom has used OmniVox for such services as number translation and call completion.
They found out that an upgrade to OmniVox3D would make things a lot easier
When Maroc Telecom, which is 51 per cent-owned by Vivendi Universal as of 2005, replaced its old database with Oracle 10g Euromag, one of the best information technology and telephony solutions, but then decided to find an easier solution to link between the APEX MSP and the database. They found out that an upgrade to OmniVox3D would make things a lot easier.
The OmniVox3D Application Server was distinctively designed around Web technologies, which makes it the perfect candidate for Maroc Telecom's high volume services. OmniVox3D's advanced design makes it a good fit for any network, whether it uses VXML Gateways or IMS Softswitches. Internet providers and companies are able to easily add services to their network using OmniView Service Creation/OAM&P Environment integrated in the OmniVox3D.
"Once we presented to Maroc Telecom the OAM&P functions and features of OmniVox3D and the possible future services it could be used to implement on SIP or IMS, it was an easy decision for them to migrate," said Samir Idrissi, general manager of Euromag. "We found the application conversion tools to be very helpful, and while the OmniView® Service Creation interface has advanced significantly, it was still very familiar and easy to use".
